Aylesbury Divers Encounter Lake Monster!
On the 14th of November 2010, three intrepid divers from Aylesbury Green Park Sub Aqua Club (AGPSAC) encountered a mysterious creature while diving at the popular dive site of Stoney Cove.
The creature, estimated at two metres high and five metres long was described as green with redder patches and serpentine in form with fin like structures along its back. The large horse-like head possessed two horns.
The divers, Anna, Steve and Trish, from the Aylesbury area, said they did not feel frightened of this strange apparition. “It did not seem threatening, almost friendly” they agreed, and swam alongside them for a time, allowing them to photograph it.
A source at Stoney Cove stated that “[it is] believed to have returned to shallower waters in search of [its] favourite food, gnomes”.
Divers from AGPSAC are no strangers to encounters with aquatic denizens, earlier in the year a party filmed seals off the Farne Islands in Northumbria (you can see videos here).
News update
During the last dive trip of 2010 to Stoney Cove, members of AGPSAC encountered the creature hibernating under the pub.
